Sculptor Diane Keltner excelled at art at a very early age." I would paint, build or mold objects into some form of functional furniture" (with lots of found objects). Diane graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Arts and Sciences. While at SDSU, Jess Dominguez encouraged Diane to create a special project in clay. The project was so successful she has been working with clay ever since.
Along with the human form, Diane also specializes in North American wildlife. “I begin a project thoroughly knowing my subject. I never begin a project that I haven’t first researched, sketched and collected resources and photographs. I embrace the quote of the distinguished wild life artist Sandy Scott:
“A painter paints what he sees but a
sculptor sculpts what he knows."
